Our team in BeLux consists of approximately 50 employees and operates from our headquarters in Leuven with a hub in Ghent and various site offices for ongoing projects.
Our Services include Engineering & Construction Consultancy together with Environmental, Transportation and Health & Safety, focused on the following sectors: Industry & New Energies, Buildings & Workplaces, and Infrastructure.
Job Summary
As a Project Manager you will be responsible to deliver end-to-end project services and for the operational delivery (safety, time, cost, quality) of one or more projects, including HSSE requirements, performance criteria/objectives together with all deliverables and financials.
You will report to a Project Director and/or Operations Manager who will be responsible for strategy and wider team coordination, whilst you will retain all management and coordination duties at project level.
You will also contribute to the growth of the business through consolidating systems and procedures, expanding the relationship with clients, identifying new opportunities and actively be part of and collaborating with the BeLux team.
To be successful in this role you will need strong organisational, management and leadership skills to ensure safe and proactive delivery of Services in line with AECOM’s scope, coordinate stakeholders and timely issue of deliverables.
Main Responsibilities
General Items
Lead and promote HSSE with all stakeholders;
Ensure compliance with company procedures;
Support business development activity by generating new business with existing and new clients and/or identifying new opportunities;
Actively engage with other BeLux teams and foster collaboration;
Support and implement build-up of AECOM branding;
Contribute to improvement on operations delivery and internal systems;
Project Specific
Ensure safe delivery and compliance with HSSE requirements;
Take ownership for Contract Management and internal/external KPIs;
Ensure Delivery of scope in line with AECOM Contract;
Review project plan and structure with Project Director to ensure successful delivery;
Coordinate project’s stakeholders: management, client, designers, contractors, etc.;
Manage Procurement of Works, Services and Suppliers as required;
Programme Management to monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met;
Information Management & Document Control;
Commercial management during all project phases.
Key Deliverables
Develop, monitor and update project programme & delivery strategy,
Coordinate, prepare and issue int/ext deliverables
Arrange, prepare, chair and minute meetings;
Review, distribute and obtain submissions’ approval and/or comments;
Prepare and issue int/ext reports regularly;
Manage, update and issue risk register including mitigation measures;
Formulate recommendations addressing key issues;
Undertake site checks to monitor progress and quality;
Minimum Requirements
Holder of a graduate degree in Construction Industry.
Uncompromising standards on Safety and Quality;
Fluency in Dutch or French
Fluency in English
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction Project Management;
Valid driving licence;
Lead by example and through others in safety, performance, compliance and ethics;
Energy, enthusiasm and determination;
Be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures;
Analytical mind, problem-solving and time-management skills;
Strong communication and organizational competencies;
Proficient use of IT tools: MS Office, MS Project, Information Management systems, etc.
Confident and capable individual with strong client focus;
Commercially aware and experienced;
Decisive; holds people accountable to project delivery;
Must thrive in a fast paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary;
Experience with end-to-end delivery of projects in leading role;
Ability to build and sustain client relationships and adapt to ever changing client demands;
Ability to see the opportunities for improved performance and act upon them;
Flexibility to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience (less than 5 years) in AECOM’s key sectors is a plus;
