Job Description

As a Project Director with AECOM Belgium you represent our organisation so as to successfully deliver the consulting service in line with client and company policy objectives.

You provide direction & management of a project or program of multiple projects and ensures on-schedules completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. Furthermore you are responsible for ensuring the Project Teams consistently undertake scope development, scope management including over view of design stages and commercial performance of the projects to meet goals and objectives.

Key duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Ensure consistent best practice approach to project initiation across program of projects.

  • Ensure consistent management of design stage including coordination with project stakeholders and others external and internal parties to achieve project milestones targets up to construction documents and selection of contractors.

  • Acts as the Company representative with the Client and selected consultants and contractors during the program execution, overseas negotiation of changes to the scope of work with the client and key subconsultants. Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the projects.

  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Control Plan and other documents.

  • Oversees the establishment of the program requirements for all areas of the projects, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.

  • Oversees the planning, direction, supervision and control of the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions across program of projects.

  • Assigns responsibility to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths.

  • Leads effective performance management of the Project Teams, including input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.

  • Work with other managers, project engineers and discipline Heads to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of the projects.

Qualifications:

  • Several years’ experience in a Project or Construction Management role with a main contractor or engineering firm

  • Fluency in French, English and preferably Dutch

  • Energy, enthusiasm and determination;

  • Commercially aware and experienced;

  • Lead by example and through others;

  • Decisive; holds people accountable to project delivery;

  • Must thrive in a fast paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Experience with end-to-end delivery of large construction projects in leading role

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team;

  • Ability to build and sustain client relationships and adapt to ever changing client demands;

  • Ability to see the opportunities for improved performance and act upon them;

  • Ability to strike a good balance shifting between big picture planning and detailed level execution tracking;

  • Uncompromising standards on Safety and quality;

  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
