Job Summary

AECOM are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineer to join its well-established Civil and Infrastructure Engineering team, based in our Leeds office although flexibility to work from other offices across the North would be optional.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in infrastructure, defence, public and private water and waste water and flood risk.

Your main responsibilities will include the following:

  • Manage multi-discipline design teams to complete technical project delivery.

  • Prepare detailed technical civil engineering designs.

  • Adopt the a technical lead position.

  • Project and programme management.

  • Project commercial control and management.

  • Quality systems and procedures.

  • Health and safety.

  • Manage and mentor team members to promote their technical and professional development.

  • Client, contractor and supply chain management.

Experience of heavy civil engineering of major infrastructure projects would be a distinct advantage.

Minimum Requirements

  • Significant experience within a civil engineering capacity.

  • Significant and relevant experience of working within a Senior Engineer position on relevant projects.

  • Experience of significant heavy civil engineering infrastructure in a tunnelling, ports and marine environment would be a distinct advantage.

  • Core technical skills should include piling, pump and pipeline hydraulics, wastewater treatment, water treatment and an understanding of other engineering disciplines.

  • Significant understanding of construction and operational requirements within design.

  • Significant understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems.

  • Ability to produce client proposals, manage teams and provide mentorship to your team members.

  • Well networked having previous experience of civil engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer with CIWEM or the ICE.

  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant field.
