Job Description
Our Air Quality team is looking for an experienced Principal Air Quality Consultant to complement and enhance our team in any of these locations - Birmingham, Basingstoke, Croydon, Leeds or Nottingham (other locations may be considered). This post offers excellent career opportunities in a large, friendly and well established team supporting one of the world's largest integrated engineering, construction and technical services organisations. The team numbers approximately 45 air quality specialists in the UK with over 500 practitioners worldwide.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding and knowledge of a wide variety of air quality issues, with the ability to lead and work well in a team and have excellent communication, report writing and mentoring skills. Experience of leading and delivering air quality assessments and reports to clients is essential.
Our UK team of air quality specialists delivers a range of exciting and varied projects across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa region. We work in multi-disciplinary teams delivering solutions to a broad base of client sectors including development, energy, oil and gas, water, government and transportation. There are opportunities to support our clients not only through EIA and planning related services but through the full spectrum of project life services including monitoring, due diligence, occupational exposure assessments, risk management, emissions monitoring and the drafting of good practice guidance.
Our clients are from the private and public sector and our leading UK clients include Defra, National Highways, Thames Water, TfL and GLA, and numerous Local Authorities, as well as leading UK contractors and developers.

Job Duties:
Lead and manage air quality impact assessments and the delivery of reports for clients for developments, roads and industrial facilities
Oversee staff to use a range of dispersion modelling software (e.g. ADMS/AERMOD) to predict air quality impacts
Manage ambient and workplace monitoring studies
Pro-actively assist in business development and take a lead in preparing proposals for internal and external clients
Demonstrate quality assurance procedures to review work and document these checks in according with policies and procedures
Review health and safety risk assessments for site work to ensure personal and team safety
Coordination of resources on projects and support workload management across the team
Collaborate with colleagues and clients to gather information, discuss project requirements, and provide solutions to problems
Establish good working relationships with other internal teams such as EIA, transportation, ecology, acoustics and sustainability/carbon
Qualifications
Degree level in a numerical science,
Full membership of a relevant professional body or certificate of successful completion of professional training
Minimum Requirements
Consultancy experience completing air quality assessments and providing air quality services for major projects for a range of public and private clients across a variety of sectors
Detailed understanding and knowledge of the current and future air quality policies in the UK
Enthusiasm for working in the air quality field
Excellent report writing skills, communication and presentation skills
Extensive dispersion modelling experience
Good understanding of ambient air quality monitoring
Ability to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
