If so we are looking for an experienced and motivated Associate Cost Manager to join our team, flexible in location, to support the growth and development of the Commercial Life Sciences/Tech Sector across the UK and Ireland. You will have the opportunity to get involved directly with existing and emerging clients, reporting directly into the Commercial Science/Tech Sector Lead in UK/I

You will play a pivotal role in the growth of this sector, working on a wide variety of schemes, integrating with teams across the UK, mentor junior members of our team, and working with other Directors in raising the profile of AECOM Cost Management across the UK/I and growing the sector. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. We are a growing team of dedicated cost managers providing commercial advice to blue-chip Commercial clients across the UK and Ireland We aim to provide a “best in class” service that provides our clients with cost certainty on their projects and to protect their commercial objectives at all times.

We work closely with our clients and other key stakeholders on long term relationship building, in significant programmes of work up to 10 years.

Job Responsibilities:

You will need to be from a consultancy or organisation with a proven ability to successfully manage cost management commissions from cradle to grave. Duties will include:

  • Lead and motivate a Cost Management team delivering multiple commissions and be responsible for outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

  • Ensures commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team, building a strong team spirit and work ethic

  • Actively contribute to work-winning activities; with particular attention on client care, business development thought leadership and other collateral.

  • Be the primary interface with AECOM clients on your commissions.

  • Be accountable for achieving internal targets, KPIs and the like.

  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Senior Cost Managers, Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.

  • Manage the delivery of cost management team

  • Provide full Cost Management duties to AECOM clients.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

  • Proven experience in a similar consultancy providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre-Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution

  • Track record of successfully delivering science/research and development facilities, ideally for Commercial Developers.

  • Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following sectors – Commercial Offices, Tertiary Education Science/Research, Healthcare

  • Passionate about delivering high-quality consulting services to our clients.

  • An understanding of the climate change agenda and how your skills can actively contribute towards achieving net carbon solutions for our clients, a key issue for the scientific community.
