Job Description
We have an opportunity for an Arboricultural Consultant to join our established team. You shall be working on projects around the North of England You can be based from our Leeds or Manchester offices, the role will include some flexibility on working location, including the potential for home working where appropriate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning team (we won the Gold Green Apple Award for our tree protection measures for London’s Thames Tideway project). We have our own integrated technical team producing our plans as well as a dedicated internal software development team. We are part of a wider group of technical experts that includes planners, engineers, ecologists and landscape architects, which enables knowledge sharing and support across the business. We work across a broad range of sectors and on a diverse range of projects (both large and small) in the UK and internationally.
ABOUT THE JOB
Your core responsibilities will be:
Undertaking tree surveys for planning purposes and to assess tree condition
Preparing arboricultural reports to BS 5837:2012, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS)
Preparing Tree Condition Reports
Working independently or with other arboricultural and environmental professionals, in the planning, delivery and management of arboricultural services
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Sound level of knowledge of arboricultural principles, including awareness of BS5837:2012, BS8545:2014 and BS3998:2010
Competency in tree identification, inspection, condition assessment and necessary management options
Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture (or equivalent Level 3/4 qualification) or higher
Knowledge of relevant UK legislation, best practice and policy relating to arboriculture
Professional, organised and thorough approach to work which demonstrates an attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
IT skills should include Microsoft Office
Full clean UK driving licence
Preferred Qualifications
Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certificate
Level 5 Arboricultural qualification or higher
