Position Title Sr. Database Administrator

Purpose and Scope:
As a company expert, defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Provides experienced technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment. Advises applications development staff and users on database solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases. Ensures economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards.

Advise applications development staff and users on database solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.
Ensure economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards.
Design, implement, and maintain databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Include maintenance of database dictionaries, and integration of systems through database design.
Develop and maintain expertise in use of automated tools for database design and implementation.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelor degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience, and five to seven years minimum of related experience is required. Good written and oral communication skills and familiarity with word processing, database, spreadsheet programs and integrated software applications are required. Must possess and maintain an active DoD TS Clearance.
Experience with SQL 2012 (and higher) and Oracle Databases
Cognos Development and Reporting
Well versed in Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Data integration, ETL / ELT in Microsoft SQL server and SSIS
Well versed in Semantic Analytical models using Microsoft SQL 2012 or higher
Experience developing Tabular Data Models in Microsoft SQL 2012 or higher
Experience developing complex measures using the DAX language
