Purpose and Scope:
Working under direction of an HR Manager, or senior HR Generalist, the HR Assistant provides administrative, clerical and technical support to the Human Resources function. Areas of support may include one or more of the following: training, employment/EEO, compensation and benefits.
Maintains correspondence, forms, listings, files, reports, and automated personnel records and information.
Support activities associated with Collective Bargaining Agreements related to current programs or contract operations.
Provide support to employees on benefit plans.
Performs typing, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base tasks.
Reconciles data in the automated Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other sources of employee information.
Prepares and processes a variety of personnel actions including new hires (i.e., regular full-time, temporary, and part-time employees), rehires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, etc.
Provides Newhire Orientation sessions.
Assists in the compilation and preparation of forms, reports, and projects.
Assist in maintaining filing systems
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
High school diploma or equivalent training/experience with 3 years of related experience, preferably including experience in a government contractor/DoD working environment. Possess good communication, organizational, and analytical skills; and working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and data base software. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a government Security Clearance. Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
