Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Archaeological Field Technician for immediate employment in Laredo, TX. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. This position is variable part-time and work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Conduct archaeological investigations/excavations and screens soils/deposits

  • Take accurate field notes and draw accurate profiles and plan views

  • Record archaeological field data

  • Process artifacts (wash, mark and catalog) and perform basis analysis of artifacts

  • Work on complex and challenging projects with little senior assistance

  • Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures

  • Consult with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree

  • Valid drivers license

  • Phase I field experience in Texas and/or Louisiana

  • Knowledge of basic field excavation techniques

  • Ability to work in difficult conditions at a strenuous pace (ie: rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and humid environments)

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
