Job Summary

Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of junior engineers to senior professionals to perform day-to-day design and planning

  • activities

  • Perform checking and verification of design calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings to ensure high quality

  • Ensure submission of project deliverables within agreed budget and timeline

  • Improve technical capabilities of the team

  • Provide high quality technical advice to internal/external clients

  • Attend client and design coordination meetings

  • Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve interface issues and technical clarifications

  • Play a direct role in scope management and client satisfaction

  • Project management and contract administration for projects

  • Assist in proposal and tender preparation

  • Contribute towards creating a high performing, motivated and engaged team

  • Candidates with the right aptitude and client facing skills may opt to become full time project managers

Minimum Requirements

Experience / Skills

  • Recognised Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering

  • More than 15 years of civil engineering experience with more than 10 years in geotechnical related design and consulting

  • Technically competent and familiar with numerical analysis of soil-structure interaction

  • Well-developed engineering judgment skills to assess geotechnical problems and to provide construction stage advice

  • Ability to understand and meet the needs of clients

  • Ability to write clear and concise technical reports

  • Experience on large, multi-disciplinary design-and-build projects is preferred

  • Rail, tunnelling, deep excavation and temporary works experience will be well regarded

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) will be an advantage
