Position Title Technical Director

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Structural Design Expert for Kolkata region.
The candidate shall be required to work as a lead member of the structural design team in Kolkata office.
The job would include review of structural designs of long span bridges, underground metro etc.; guiding Young Engineers and Cad persons, interacting with Clients and obtain design approvals.
Candidate to report to Regional Director in Kolkata.
Lead team to win jobs through competitive prebid design.
The candidate is expected to act as a link between the Regional Director and young engineers on all technical matters.
Specific Skills Required:
Specific Language requirements.
Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts or similar.
Specific systems or tools used – ETABS, SAFE etc.
Specific industry and project experience – ports, rail, highways.
Requirements for driving licenses.
Mandatory Professional Certifications.

Bachelors in Civil Engineering plus Masters in Structural Engineering.
Overall experience should be between 18 and 30 years.
Should have more than 15 years of experience in hands-on structural design of underground metro, bridges and flyovers. Experience in design of cable stayed/ extradosed bridges, steel bridges is preferable.
Structural analysis and design of bridges, flyovers and underground metro.
Should be amicable and should have an ability to lead a team of around 50 people. Should have good communication skills. Should sound convincing when dealing with the Clients. Should be able to take responsibility of profitability of projects and growth of the organisation in the region.
Good command over structural analysis and design using finite element software.
Should have thorough knowledge of IS codes of practices and knowledge of BS & ACI standards would be an added advantage.
Experience in large Infrastructure projects required.
Should able to mentor young engineers, review their designs and drawings and suggest technical solutions in a time-bound manner.
Should be able to take responsibility of profitability of projects and growth of the organisation in the region.
Should be acquainted with ISO documentation and quality review procedures.
Excellent communication skills.
Prior experience in similar projects.
