AECOM Landscape Architectural Technologist in Kitchener, Ontario

Canada - Ontario, Kitchener

Job Summary

The Buildings + Places division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Landscape Architectural Technologist. The successful candidate will work from home for now due to COVID-19, and will work out of our Kitchener Office once safe to do so.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare sketches, design drawings, contract drawings, diagrams, and work within AutoCAD and Micro Station softwares

  • Drawing co-ordination with civil, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines

  • Assistance with construction contract administration – shop drawings, change orders, and as-built drawings

  • Assisting senior level staff as directed

  • Ensuring designs conforms with all applicable agencies requirements and client standards

  • Participate as a productive member of a design team for the Buildings + Places group

Minimum Requirements

  • A Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology and 2+ years of experience in the Landscape Architectural design of municipal, commercial, industrial, institutional facilities, transportation and emergency services within private sector consulting firm, or equivalent.

  • Proven knowledge of working in AutoCAD, understanding the complexity of multidisciplinary drawings, working with references and in world co-ordinates.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction phase experience in contract administration and field review is an asset

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Photoshop, Adobe suite, Revit MEP, Navisworks and MicroStation is an asset

  • Plan and perspective graphic rendering capabilities preferred.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skill proficiency effectively communicating complex design or technical issues

  • Well organized, self-directed work habits with an ability to prioritize and schedule tasks in a dynamic environment

  • Desire to grow within an exciting multi-disciplinary office

  • Valid drivers license required
