Position Title Intermediate Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager

The Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intermediate Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager for immediate employment in the Kitchener, ON office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have an opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of interesting water resources projects that include stormwater and watershed management and modelling, environmental assessments, hydrology, hydraulics, stream rehabilitation / natural channel design, in-field assessments and monitoring. Skills you will likely use or develop in this job include project management, hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, site inspection / surveying, water quality and quantity monitoring, data analysis, and report / proposal writing all in a friendly, fast-paced consulting engineering work environment at AECOM in Kitchener.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working directly with group manager, project engineers, fluvial geomorphologists, ecologists, less experienced and support staff on projects related to Water Resources, mostly within Southern Ontario
Responsible for projects including communicating with client, meetings, project management, completing technical analysis and reviews, preparing reports and proposals, conceptual / preliminary and detailed designs of stormwater management infrastructure
Bachelors degree in Water resources or Civil Engineering
5+ years of water resources experience
Registered as a P. Eng with the PEO
Strong technical knowledge of all water resources practices in Ontario
Capability to develop and apply various water resources modeling programs e.g. HEC-RAS, SWMM, SWMHYMO, VISUAL OTTHYMO etc
Interested and capable to take on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing etc.)
Ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively and work with others is essential
Strong computer skills including advanced working knowledge of Word and Excel
Must possess excellent organizational, communication and writing skills
Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Project management experience
Experience delegating to less experienced staff is an asset
Natural channel design experience will be considered a strong asset
Design and construction experience related to transportation infrastructure, stormwater and/or erosion and slope stability projects
Experience including preparation of cost estimates and tender packages as well as contract administration
Experience with Fluvial Geomorphology / Natural Channel design would be considered a strong asset
