Job Summary

Purpose and Scope:

Perform duties to conduct Launch mission planning, processing support, analysis and review of documentation and requests for ISC resources relating to launch activity to ensure quality and timely ISC support without impact to milestone operations working within the limits of standard or accepted practice. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, State, Local, NASA and Air Force laws and regulations and requirements and Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral Air Force Station energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy. This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, plan and update flight support documents for ISC support requirements and ensure contractual obligation accuracy.

  • Develop support plans or work instructions for each support element in major milestones per departmental procedures.

  • May attend procedure review meetings, with or without assigned MSO Test Conductor, to ensure redlines are incorporated in revisions representing the ISC.

  • Maintain the IOMI library and ensure current revision updates are communicated to the appropriate ISC personnel.

  • Review and analyze the KICS & PGOC schedules for ISC support. Issue and update SON’s as required for resource planning.

  • Plan and review of ISC Mission milestones and report status and concerns for each milestone. Report to customers with a readiness statement for each required milestone.

  • Control and maintain classified documents.

  • Review CCAFS and KSC launch milestones and critical day schedules and advertise to ISC for planning.

  • Process permits and requests for non-facilities requirements to ensure no-impact to operations.

  • Maintain logs and records, as required.

  • Performs other related and/or associated duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and four years related experience. Must be knowledgeable of the ISC activities and operational requirements associated with Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station operations. Must possess good working knowledge of applicable computer operating system(s) and hardware. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance, area permits, licenses, certifications, etc. required for performance of assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

Internal candidates to Kennedy Space Center operations will be considered first.
