Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, responsible for all activities relating to receiving, storing, issuing, ordering, and delivery of government and company materials and equipment. Interface, process and expedite supply requirements between departments/sections and other customers. Prepare and maintain necessary procurement documentation, charts, files, reports, etc.

Operate computer equipment, as required, to obtain data and/or input data. Operate vehicles and material handling equipment to facilitate the safe loading, unloading and transportation of materials and equipment. Process work requests into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Calibration, TVD, and CDR. Perform any work assigned to the employees in this classification. Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignment.

Maintain bench stock and inventory levels to ensure cost effective availability of parts and materials to support laboratory operations.

Performs duties in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Air Force laws and regulations and requirements and KSC/CCAFS energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.

ASSOCIATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  1. Receive equipment and materials from customers, document transfer of custody, inspect and document any damage or other anomalous conditions, review customer paperwork for completeness and accuracy, and address any issues found with customer. Report any unresolved issues to management.

  2. Process received equipment or materials into appropriate work control system, ensuring all customer requirements are captured and clearly documented.

  3. Relocate ready to work equipment or materials to the staging areas within the labs. When completed, retrieve from labs and return to logistics area to await customer pickup. Notify customers that completed equipment/components are ready for pickup when required. Document transfer of custody back to customer. Complete processing in LIMS to close out work order.

  4. Process purchase requests into Maximo to ensure required data entries are complete and correct. Upon receipt of material or service, update Maximo to reflect receipt. Deliver received material or equipment to the requester.

  5. Maintain physical inventory and bench stock and corresponding data in Maximo. Establish and maintain stock level to ensure cost effectiveness of parts and supplies required to sustain LASSO maintenance responsibilities.

  6. Maintain applicable certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks.

  7. Operate vehicle to pickup and deliver materials, supplies, components, support equipment and documentation required to support the LASSO.

  8. Respond to customer inquiries concerning scheduling and prioritization of work.

  9. Operate material handling equipment required for receipt storage and dispensing of components.

  10. Perform any other related and/or associate duties, as required by management.

  11. Maintain work areas and store rooms in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Areas where personnel work and pass should be kept clear and free from obstructions.

  12. This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Education:

High school or equivalent.

Experience:

Three (3) years in procurement, computerization component analysis, material planning, material control, maintenance requirements, or related experience.

Training/Skills:

Must possess ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Must possess working knowledge of applicable computer operating system(s) and standard computer applications.

  3. Must be eligible for, or have successfully completed a National Agency Check Investigation within the last ten (10) years.

  4. Employability in the U.S. and pre-employment drug screen required.

  5. Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

  6. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  7. Ability to use a personal computer in the performance of automated calibration processes and for workload management and tracking as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Local Candidates Preferred.

May be required to possess valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with Hazardous Endorsement.
