Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Sports Sector Leader - NFL will be part of the leadership team responsible for all aspects of business development, budget planning, strategy, and media for sports projects at AECOM. This position will expand and cultivate relationships throughout the sports business marketplace and represent AECOM at a variety of external events and conferences. It is expected this position will be visible in the marketplace through attendance of industry conferences, specific sport organizational functions, and a positive presence on all social media platforms.

This position will be primarily focused on supporting and expanding NFL / Professional Stadia opportunities for the Americas Market Sector: North America and Europe. A successful candidate will have a history of identifying, cultivating, and delivering sales goals and/or specific financial targets on an annual basis. A combination of the individual talents and AECOM resources is expected to leverage and produce increased results as compared to past or current situations. Where appropriate this position will collaborate and support efforts of additional AECOM sports or other applicable market sectors as part of the Global Sports Team. In addition to external focused efforts, a percentage of time will be required to maintain CRM databases providing accurate and timely reporting of data to support sports sales pipeline projections for budgeting and planning purposes. This position will have dual reporting to the National Market Sector Leader for strategy and implementation along with the Regional Executive(s) for career and human resources support.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead new client development activities

  • Support ongoing business development strategies

  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM information

  • Support reporting requirements

  • Develop and execute sports marketing and promotional budgets

  • Partner with technical and/or design staff to promote opportunities and enhance project opportunities

  • Maintain and work with company leadership and project teams to ensure maximum design quality market effectiveness for firm

  • Review and evaluate design issues and determine project conformance to firm standards

  • Support requirements of marketing resource staff for promotional, proposal, and interview material creation

  • Direct, supervise, and participate in as lead client relationship contact for early stages on project submittals

  • Ability to oversee, direct, and mentor multiple client facing project teams across multiple simultaneous efforts

  • Primary marketer for largest design projects (with more emphasis on domestic clients)

  • Participate as a member of design review panel and presents own projects to design panel

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus minimum twelve (12) years of related experience in sports facility related business activities including 4 years of leadership experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project leadership, strategic/ business planning, sales responsibility, or project development for sports facility related organizations.

  • Able to partner with and join AECOM’s national market sector leadership team to develop and execute strategic plan

  • Able to organize and lead specific growth sector projects

  • Able to develop and implement client sector capture strategies

  • Has an existing project portfolio and relationships to position AECOM related services across the spectrum of growth-oriented development opportunities
