Position Title Environmental Consultant (Social Impact Assessment), Indonesia

Job Summary

  • Working within the Impact Assessment Team of the Environment Business Line

  • Delivery of environmental and social consulting services, particularly social impact assessment, land acquisition and resettlement planning, stakeholder engagement planning and implementation for both private and government development projects

  • Provide advise to Clients regarding Indonesia regulations and International best practices standards (such as IFC PS, World Bank and ADB Sagefuard Policy) related to social impact assessment and management plan

  • Writing report (in both English and Bahasa), undertake site visit survey and engaging with project stakeholders

  • Support the management of project and proposal, including liaise with Clients on technical, commercial and project management matters

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experiences, preferably in social impact assessment, management planning, community program implementation, related social research (e.g. cultural heritage and indigenous people), and in providing services for private sectors as well as government development projects

  • Knowledge and experiences in stakeholder mapping and stakeholder engagement strategies

  • Familiar and experience working with Indonesian regulatory EIA (AMDAL) and International ESIA Guidelines & Legislation (IFC Performance Standards, World Bank, ADB Safeguard Policy, and Equator Principles)

  • Good communication skills, comfortable in dealing with clients and consultation/engagement with project stakeholders

  • Willing to travel frequently for project assignment

  • Ability to undertake complex and interdisciplinary social studies

  • Experiences in coordinating small team and project management\

  • The ability to learn quickly and work flexible

  • Excellent writing skills, particularly for social reporting (writing sample may be requested at a later stage of the recruitment process)

  • Fluent in English spoken and writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognized degree in social science or relevant environment study (e.g. Sociology, Development Studies), international master or postgraduate degree is a plus
