Job Summary
Shimmick Construction is currently seeking an administrator for the position of DBE/GFE Compliance in Irvine, CA.
Become a part of a dynamic, fast-growing player in Heavy Civil Construction. Shimmick Construction is a national Contractor seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.
Position Requirement: A detailed and organized professional with previous office administration experience in the construction industry. Primary focus on DBE/SBE/GFE compliance and outreach, previous experience in this is highly preferred. Experience in EPA and Caltrans DBE process and requirements is also highly preferred.
Position Outline:
Primary Role: DBE/GFE Compliance & Outreach
Manage Good Faith Effort requirements which includes documentation, advertising and outreach.
Research and understand each pursuit’s and Agency’s GFE/DBE/SBE requirements for the projects that we pursue.
Complete all Good Faith Efforts for all pursuits in a timely and organized manner. Manage the estimating team to ensure that GFE/DBE/SBE requirements are considered and complied with during the bidding and close-out process.
Attend Pre-bid and Outreach meetings as required.
Attend GFE/DBE/SBE Seminars and trainings.
Maintain DBE/SBE subcontractor/supplier database (SmartBidNet)
Assist with DBE compliance on ongoing projects as needed
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience OR AA/AS (US) + 6 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 8 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the construction, architectural, or engineering industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint and Excel.
Familiarity with Salesforce, CMIC and Cosential is a plus
Compliance and outreach, previous experience in this is highly preferred.
Experience in EPA and Caltrans DBE process and requirements is also highly preferred.
