Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist for employment in the Indianapolis, IN area to support our industrial asbestos/lead/mold program which includes inspection, design/plan, and abatement oversight. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills and experience with asbestos and/or lead surveys/inspections.
The position may require frequent travel throughout the greater Indianapolis region. Trips are typically one week or less in duration with the ability to be home on weekends. Travel may be up to 50% of the time.
Tasks will include:
Designing abatement plans
Conducting asbestos surveys and abatement oversight
Conducting lead paint inspections and mold / indoor air quality surveys
Conducting universal and general hazard inventories surveys
Travel within a geographic territory conducting inspections; travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays
Preparing reports and other technical documents.
Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data
Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, or closely related field and 4 years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid driver's license
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of experience in environmental consulting
40-Hour HAZWOPER training
Asbestos Certifications (Inspector, Project Monitor, NIOSH 582, Supervisor and Designer)
Experience with Lead Paint Inspections and Indoor Air Quality Inspections
DOT and RCRA Training
Asbestos Certifications (Inspector, Project Monitor, NIOSH 582, Supervisor, or Designer)

This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
