The Construction Inspector will serve as a key member of the firm’s construction management discipline by working as an employee of the Indianapolis office on inspection projects throughout the City of Indianapolis. The successful candidate will perform testing and inspection services on water and wastewater projects. Between field assignments, this position may involve design tasks such as constructability reviews of plans for upcoming projects as well as assisting technical staff during plan preparation.
The job responsibilities include:
Inspect construction crews’ work to ensure compliance with the contract documents including plans and specifications on active construction contracts
Identify and inform the project manager or Lead Inspector of observed problems
Work with supervisor to address public and contractor questions
Make measurements and observations of work being performed to ensure accurate quantities are tracked for completed work
Monitor material testing needs, and schedule various tests when needed
Minimum Requirements
HS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
5-10 years of construction or related experience or 0-3 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Possess a valid driver’s license
Desire to obtain a PE license in the future
