Position Title RPA Munitions Technician Lead/Creech AFB, NV

Employee will be assigned to Creech AFB, NV and may be required to support TDY deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations as required. Oversees and coordinates the work effort of assigned subordinate maintenance personnel in support of the unit’s daily RPA maintenance operations. Supervises employees who assemble, disassemble, renovate, transport, load, deactivate, modify, destroy, and handle munitions including missiles, precision, and gravity bombs. Oversees maintenance work on the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components. May perform maintenance modifications, destruction, and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components. Operates computer hardware and software utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures. Inspects bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction in support of Predator/Reaper Series RPA maintenance.
Incumbent may manage inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment. Focal point for weapons loading and armament systems and related matters. Primary authority to provide quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs. May author and maintain weapons safety course, load certification and related products. Provides technical and managerial advice to senior leaders in matters of weapons management, inventory, and maintenance, loading, and armament systems. Plans, orders, and ensures availability and serviceability of munitions to support emerging customer requirements.
USAF equivalent position is Munitions Technician Superintendent. Position reports to the Supervisor.
Oversee maintenance work in the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.
Direct maintenance modification, destruction and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components.
Operate computer hardware and software/utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures.
Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction.
Manage all inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment.
Focal point for all weapons loading and armament systems and related matters.
Execute quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs.
Provide technical and managerial advice to senior leaders in matters of weapons management, inventory, maintenance, loading, and armament systems.
Manage the local weapons load certification program.
Monitor munitions individuals for certification and currency.
Plan, order and ensure availability and serviceability of munitions to support and meet customer requirements.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Must have Associate’s degree, or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum
Minimum of eight-plus years actual and recent aircraft Munitions Technician maintenance experience required
Must have working knowledge of basic and complex maintenance and repair
Must possess weapons handling, maintaining, and accountability experience
Must have the ability to build a team, maintain schedules, and monitor certification schedules
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship upon hire
DoD Secret Security Clearance eligibility is required
Must submit updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date
Must be eligible to gain and maintain a DOD security clearance commensurate with the assigned duties
Must be able to gain and maintain the required security clearance level and special access authorization as a condition of continued employment
Current DoD Security Clearance
Application of technical knowledge of aircraft principles in determining malfunctions and skill application in restoring equipment systems and operations
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant career field
Minimum of eight years actual and recent experience on RPA aircraft
RPA operations & deployment experience
Prior experience as a Defense Contractor
Prior experience in RPA munitions maintenance and repair
Meets all OCONUS Deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening
