Position Title RPA AGE Mechanic Lead/Creech AFB, NV

Employee will be assigned to Creech AFB, NV and may support TDY deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations as required. Oversees and coordinates the work effort of assigned subordinate maintenance personnel in support of the unit’s daily RPA maintenance operations. Supervises an Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) shop in a medium to large-sized military aircraft flying organization. Ensures the timely and proper performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on AGE equipment and light support vehicles. Directs inspections and tests on AGE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical circuitry malfunctions. Interprets drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical data to facilitate repairs and/or modifications to ground support equipment.
Identifies appropriate replacement parts in TOs and technical documents and orders those parts. Maintains and documents AGE equipment and tow vehicle forms. Positions equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations. Schedules PMIs as required. Adheres to safety procedures, and follows technical orders as applicable.
USAF equivalent position is AGE Mechanic Superintendent. Position reports to the Supervisor.
Directs maintenance on external fuel and grounding systems; oversees scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE; inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation; Directs servicing of equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air; diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
Oversees maintenance on malfunctioning GSE accessories and components to include repairs, cleaning, and treatment for corrosion; ensures all GSE components are stenciled and marked in accordance with technical publications; stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles.
Maintains vehicle records, and updates paper and electronic equipment records; provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations; practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Must have Associate’s degree, or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum
Minimum of eight-plus years actual and recent aircraft maintenance experience required
Must have working knowledge of basic and complex maintenance and repair
Must possess thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft and AGE maintenance and be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
Must be familiar with most types and uses of AGE equipment
Must have an electrical/mechanical background
Must be able to obtain a flight line driver’s license
Must be familiar with diesel engine maintenance and repair, and HVAC maintenance and repair
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship upon hire
Must submit updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date
Must be eligible to gain and maintain a DOD security clearance commensurate with the assigned duties
Must be able to gain and maintain the required security clearance level and special access authorization as a condition of continued employment
Current DoD Security Clearance
Application of technical knowledge of aircraft principles in determining malfunctions and skill application in restoring equipment systems and operations
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant career field
RPA operations & deployment experience
Prior experience as a Defense Contractor
Prior experience in RPA AGE maintenance and repair
Vehicle Operator Training
Meets all OCONUS Deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening
