Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced and talented intermediate to senior Architectural Laboratory Planner with relevant experience in laboratory (including vivarium) programming, planning and design for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, biomedical, petrochemical or other research institutions. This position is to be based in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities and requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
Work directly with clients, scientists, researchers and related end-users to develop laboratory planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovations
Offers and supports creative laboratory planning, technical design and detailing decisions that are in line with project goals and understands their impact on cost, construction, sustainability and other factors
Provide or follow verbal and written instructions to revise, develop and produce plans, elevations and details appropriately
Direct document production in accordance with identified project specific checklists, AECOM standards and QA/QC standard program
Promotes firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability
Day to day project and client management of laboratory projects from initial planning through construction
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- BA/BS in architecture or related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications :
Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Related laboratory architectural planning experience
Working knowledge and skill set to guide discussions for laboratory (including vivarium) room/space development in conjunction with equipment and other technical attributes
Ability to work with end users to develop process flows, planning process and critical adjacencies of research and laboratory rooms for optimum efficiency and flexibility
Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary team, and meeting scope/schedule/budget
Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements
Must have Revit and AutoCAD experience
