Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a highly qualified

Global Force Management (GSM) Analyst to provide research, planning and analysis support to U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate in the area of Global Force Management (GFM). The USINDOPACOM J3 is an operationally focused center for all Operations related matters supporting strategic objectives and plans in the USINDOPACOM AOR. This position is located at

Camp H.M. Smith, HI.

The Global Force Management analyst will be responsible for the planning, staffing and actionable items in conjunction with the Joint Staff for the Global Force Management Implementation Guidance (GFMIG) and the Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP). The GFM position provides analysis on force capabilities to the USINDOPACOM Combatant Commander and the other COCOMs, while staffing mobilization and deployment of joint forces from the USA, USMC, USAF and USN with the Joint Staff and all the Services.

This position will coordinate deployment orders for USINDOPACOM to include support for OPLANS, Flexible Deterrent Operations (FDO), and the Theater Campaign Plan (TCP). The GFM analyst will provide operational recommendations for Component GFM plans and will lead the effort to enhanced processes and procedures.

This candidate for this position should be an operational leader with GFM subject matter expertise as well as a broad understanding of joint force operations and requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysis and support to management of force deployments throughout the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility.

  • Analysis and support for the allocation of INDOPACOM assigned forces' deployments worldwide.

  • Briefing senior Flag and General Officers for operational decisions.

  • Travel for conference, exercise, and operational participation in Korea, Japan, Washington DC, Norfolk, VA and other locations as required.

  • Development and implementation of plans to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.

  • Writing Requests for Forces, Operations Orders, Deployment Orders, Task Orders and Executive Order.

  • Provide recommendations to staff in resolving operational issues, updates, ideas and problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.

  • At least 5 years’ experience supporting the DoD.

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in military operations.

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in Global Force Management.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the USINDOPACOM AOR.

  • At least 3 years’ experience on a military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS).

  • Experience conducting research on a range of topics and functional areas.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient at authoring analytical or policy documents.

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university or Graduation from a military command and staff college.
