Position Title Inventory Management Specialist

Inventory Manager oversees the inventory operations of Government-owned mission stock. Directs employees engaged in conducting Distribution Standard System (DSS) inventories, researching inventory discrepancies, and documenting gains and losses through causative research, performing denial research, item data maintenance, and location surveys. Responsible for ensuring the inventory integrity of the Government-owned mission stock meets the Acceptable Performance Levels (APLs) outlined in the contract. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences In Accordance With (IAW) general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager. Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work. Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract.
Responsible for depot Inventory Operations to include inventory management, maintenance and task scheduling. Supervision of inventory processes and accuracy for all assets received, stored and/or issued at the DLA Distribution, Hill Air Force Base. Responsible for customer support, task scheduling, storage and inventory functions for all items received and stored at the depot. Ensures timely data validation and input into required transactional systems and completion of documentation for storage and inventory processing. Interacts with DSS and other systems in verifying data as required. Represents Site Manager/Project Director in contacts with customers related to inventory of material. Ensures Quality Control/Customer Service Plan compliance in storage and inventory functions. Responsible for timely depot reports submissions. Ensures all rules, regulations, contract provisions, state and federal laws are held in strict compliance. Reports to Site Manager
Purpose and Scope:
Timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled inventories IAW DDC APL's.
Scheduled and completion of required inventory process and reporting to IM, DDC (Location Survey, radioactive material inventories, TPIC, Controlled Items, etc).
Completion of directed inventories (TPIC, Controlled, Radioactive, etc).
Disseminate vision for meeting and ensures vision is understood by employees.
Ensure compliance with Audit Readiness.
Causative research, Book to Book and analysis of discrepancies including stock denials.
Preparation of documentation and ingestion into DSS/other systems as required.
Knowledgeable of DSS, MIS and other storage and inventory control documentation requirements.
Ensures compliance with stow and Physical Inventory Control APL's.
Initiate preventative and corrective actions.
Knowledgeable of distribution industry trends and characteristics.
Ensures timely and accurate Re-warehousing of assets, required COSIS and preparations of required worksheets 1225's and other forms as required by DLA or service customer.
Prepare and submit reports to senior management and customers as required and requested.
Supervise, coach and lead a team in accomplishing tasks for a specific program and area of expertise.
Collaborate daily with customer(s) to determine specific needs and requirements and to counsel within the expert area, including overseeing task execution.

Uses DSS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Experience shall include a minimum three (3) years’ experience in inventory using DSS or equivalent automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years.
High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics or related field and at least 5 years of job related experience or equivalent preferred. Excellent communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with warehouse work, occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
