Our projects are varied, including walking, and cycling, bus and rail transit, significant highway and major road upgrades projects for a wide range of public and private clients. You will deliver transportation engineering expertise to our important local clients, and work with multidisciplinary teams across New Zealand and internationally on some of the largest projects shaping our future. This approach enables us to provide the best team for each project and develop the technical capabilities and experience of our employees.
As a key member of our Transport Advisory team, you will:
Partner with our clients, providing high quality technical advice, and identifying innovative solutions to solve real world challenges.
Provide strong traffic and transportation engineering and design advice on multi-modal transport, freight, public transport, cycling and pedestrian projects, including contributions to business cases.
Plan and design a large range of projects ranging from locally focused schemes, to major Government infrastructure and strategic planning projects.
Manage and deliver tasks and projects, including managing resources, budgets and timelines.
Assist with identifying new business opportunities and pro-actively keep abreast of the latest developments in your field of expertise.
Deliver robust, winning project proposals.
Work with individuals who have experience across the globe, and mentor junior team members.
Enjoy positive working relationships with our clients and colleagues, working in a dynamic team environment alongside likeminded planners, engineers, modellers and designers.
A minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience.
A strong technical background with demonstrable experience in transportation engineering, and the design of multi-modal, public transport, cycle / pedestrian, and freight networks.
Excellent experience in road safety in New Zealand, safety auditing, and in applying the safe system approach towards Vision Zero.
Site Traffic Management Supervisor, or Traffic Controller Level 1 (non-practicing) certification.
Strong knowledge of intersection assessment, such as SIDRA, LinSig, and TRANSYT.
Experience in the design and operation of Traffic Signals.
Knowledge of current trends in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
Knowledge of a range of transportation modelling approaches would be beneficial.
Working knowledge of CAD would be an advantage.
Experience in the New Zealand or Australian consulting market is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An awareness of the local Waikato market, and the ability to understand and deliver our client’s needs
A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent, which could include Diploma of Engineering / NZCE with suitable experience.
Registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer, or an Engineering NZ recognised equivalent.
