Position Title Civil /Municipal Engineer
Canada - Nova Scotia
Our Halifax office is growing. We are seeking a Civil /Municipal Engineer to work on a variety of water, wastewater and drainage projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Planning and design of various project elements
Preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverable as necessary for the bidding and construction of designed work
Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives
Bachelor's degree in Engineering - preferably Civil
5+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater/storm water infrastructure engineering and design – including distribution conveyance and pumping systems
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 12 months from hire
Experience in site design – including grading and runoff calculations
Excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers and project managers for the preparation of high quality work products
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory agency representatives and members of the public when required to represent the company
Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals
Must possess a valid driver's license
AutoCAD skills, particularly Civil 3-D
Fluency in written and spoken French is an asset
