Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Field Service Technician for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) within the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a high school and 2 years of relevant experience with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

The candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, , and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.

  • May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.

  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision..

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School + 2 years of relevant experience in environmental remediation and water treatment plant operation

  • Drilling operations supervision experience

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites

  • Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations

  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience is ideal

  • Knowledge and experience working with local Guam environmental

  • Experience military munitions response and environmental projects

  • Possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

  • Effective oral communication skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.

  • Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
