Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Field Service Technician for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) within the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a high school and 2 years of relevant experience with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
The candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, , and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision..
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School + 2 years of relevant experience in environmental remediation and water treatment plant operation
Drilling operations supervision experience
Valid driver’s license.
US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
Must successfully pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of experience is ideal
Knowledge and experience working with local Guam environmental
Experience military munitions response and environmental projects
Possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination
Effective oral communication skills
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
Field work will be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
