Job Summary
AECOM is seeking applications for the role of Dam Operation and Maintenance Specialist [International Expert] for an upcoming bid for a Prestigious and Large Scale Dam Rehabilitation Project in Northern states of India. AECOM’s scope of work shall be Engineering and Management Consultancy Services. We are anticipating a project duration of more than 5 years.
Dam Operation and Maintenance Specialist [International Expert] would be the Nodal Expert for all matters related to preparation and finalization of Dam Operation and Maintenance Manuals as per standard published Guidelines/Manuals/BIS Codes or any other global Guidelines to support the finalization of dam based O&M Manuals The responsibilities are as follows -
Review and finalization of all submitted draft O&M Manuals by DRIP IAs, review of all submitted plans in the PSTs and finalization of these documents, design of customized training courses related to preparation of O&M Manuals.
Conducting these trainings for capacity building of DRIP IAs.
Finalization of integrated operations of cascade of reservoirs or any other important reservoirs in consultation and technical support of Dam Break Analysis and Emergency Planning Expert, dam safety inspections, transmittals.
Capacity building of DRIP IAs, customized training programs at various levels for IAs, to be one of contributor in revision of existing guidelines, formulation of new guidelines, to give all inputs to be put in National Website for dam safety information, and MIS system.
Development of in-house expertise of select Academic Institutes, Training Calendar for design activities implementation, as well as customised training programs related to this activities to be given for annual DRIP Calendar
Need based inspection of DRIP dams, to accompany any central DSRP panels formed for any special safety issues, any other DRIP related activity assigned by Project Director DRIP, CWC.
Technical case studies to be presented in Annual Dam Safety Conferences, or any other international workshops/conferences through joint publication with CPMU, CWC of such technical papers.
Preparation of Project Rehabilitation Reports (PRR)
Contribution in finalisation of CS&QA Manual and Plan.
Training of TOT for DRIP IAs to strengthen the capacity of DRIP IAs to successfully complete and publish all these O&M manuals etc.
Minimum Requirements
Should have a degree in Civil Engineering and have at least working experience of 15 years in dam operations and maintenance, framing of annual maintenance budgets, operational experience of dams during exigencies,preparation/updation of dam specific O&M manuals, rehabilitation of dam and its appurtenances. The experience in capacity building and training of dam staff would be given an additional weightage.
Should have been involved in these activities for a minimum of 10 large dam projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent English written and spoken communication.
