Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking to hire Assistant Safety Manager to be based at Gurgaon.

AECOM India, the Programme Management Consultant for development of Exhibition Cum Convention Center, Dwarka, New Delhi under Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation limited (being the employer) is seeking to appoint an experienced Assistant Safety Manager to plan, direct, manage and oversee implementation of detailed design and construction of the project by the EPC contractor to ensure that the employer goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule, budget and defined quality parameters of the contract.

Effective communication with contractor and sub-contractors, consultants, field staff, in-house architecture/engineering/technical staff, management of client and project stake holder is essential.

Should effectively provide internal and external coordination and collaboration with project partners and stakeholders.

Job Details:

  • Delivery of the project from the stage of detailed design to all phases of construction project to testing & commissioning in complete.

  • Ensure contractors are made aware of their roles and responsibilities with regard to safe working procedures and comply with safety sustainability policy and procedures.

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues to the Management and ensure compliances. Ensure compliance of environmental clearance terms of reference and statutory approvals.

  • Enforce the provisions of Safety and Health Manual on the project.

  • Ensure that all procedures related with safety including emergency plans and procedures are in place for each contract of the project.

  • Conduct HSE training as per training matrix.

  • Perform day to day safety inspection/checks and audits at the works sites and issue NCR for non-conformance and unsafe act.

  • Closely monitor the safety performance of the contractors,

  • Work with project contractors and drive the safety culture to achieve the Safety objectives of the project.

  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements and compliance of ISO Documentation/Reports.

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities, reports, budgeting and optimal capacity utilization of resources.

  • To observe all unsafe act/conditions and take corrective action accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s in Engineering in any discipline.

  • Diploma in HSE is must.

  • 6-8 years of experience.

  • Experience working into Hospitality sector consisting 5 star hotels & Premium Leisure facility, International Airports, high end commercial & retail projects, grade A offices, real estate sectors, stadia, Convention Centres and Exhibition facilities.

  • Planning and time management.

  • Sound Knowledge of various International & national codes, standards and safety practices.

  • Experienced in a Client management role – Able to manage the client and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Prior experience in similar projects.
