AECOM Assistant Urban Designer in Guangzhou, China

Responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline engineers.
Under direct supervision, completes design assignments of moderate complexity.
Applies an intermediate level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Familiar with the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Understands the purpose of vendor documents and uses them as a reference for assigned tasks.
Basic knowledge of the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Basic knowledge of the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.
Basic understanding of the discipline’s equipment and material lists.
Complete drafting assignments.
Conduct research and analysis as needed for a project.
Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.
Assist in the preparation of production of models, marketing material, and presentation packages for public/private review.
Assist project manager or senior level staff in developing a design strategy.
Attend meetings both inside and outside the firm pertaining to existing and potential projects.
