AECOM Senior Construction Project Manager in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Job Summary

AECOM Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager for our Greenwood Village, CO office who will be responsible for leading teams to deliver projects in the Federal vertical market sector. Advanced knowledge of construction, plan review, construction means and methods, and problem solving is required.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and have experience in material take-offs, estimating, project scheduling, and shop drawings, as well as be able to manage issues, risks, and project change to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Candidates must be able to prepare and lead cost and labor estimates for vertical construction projects with authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Excellent motivation and communication skills, being capable of dealing with employees, owners, architects, engineers and project subcontractors is required. Applicants must have the Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple lines of business regarding day-to-day projects and lead project management team meetings

  • Provide management and oversight for all phases of a construction project as well as leadership of a project team by training and motivating people to meet project goals

  • Coordinating workers and material by managing all aspects or related projects to ensure the general program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of objectives.

  • Ensure all project specifications and regulations are being followed in order to meet successful and on-time project delivery.

  • Supervises assistant managers, reviews their reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.

  • Ensure regular progress meetings are being to identify and track action items and deliverables.

  • Working creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment while demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and quality.

  • Monitor staff performance and execute performance reviews.

  • Continue professional development to keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.

  • Develop and manage all aspects of project engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change and issues.

  • Set and continually manage project expectations while successfully delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel all while monitoring.

  • Track and control construction schedules and associated costs to achieve completion of projects on time

  • Other duties as allocated.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus ten years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • Will be a graduate Civil Engineer or Construction Management with at least 15 years of construction project management experience.

  • Have exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management.

  • Have experience in successfully leading projects and programs on schedule and on budget.

  • Have experience in drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes when necessary.

  • Must be capable of developing a critical path schedule and comprehending construction drawings.

  • Experience with Federal vertical structures with the Department of Defense and/or the Department of Energy, such as military installations, dormitories, hangars, hospitals, laboratories and office buildouts.

  • Familiarity with government specifications and EM-385 guidelines.

  • Working knowledge of Federal Contract delivery and Federal Subcontracting.

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with construction building codes and standards as it relates to civil, structural, mechanical and electrical trades. Will have reach back capability to technical expertise in AECOM offices in the US.

  • Proficiency with Web based interactive programs, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Bluebeam is required.

  • Have the skills and experience to take on projects and programs ranging from $50 to $300 million dollars.

  • Must be able to travel as required to perform responsibilities, such as attending client Industry Days, proposal development and onsite project management.

  • Have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide their own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certification is highly preferred.

  • Have experience in leadership and managing various projects and team size, including internal and external resources, while holding a team accountable for performance.

  • Have flexibility with the aptitude to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through problem solving capabilities.

  • Be able to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.

  • Be able to coordinate numerous activities and groups who need to cooperate to achieve efficiency.

  • Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification is preferred.

  • OSHA 30-Hr Safety Training
