AECOM is seeking a Proposal Manager. This position has the flexibility to allow a hybrid combination of remote and office work. This position can be based out of any AECOM office within the United States including, but not limited to: Dallas, TX and/or Grand Rapids, MI. As part of the DCS Americas marketing team, serves as a Senior Proposal Manager to assist winning Federal work, particularly for the Department of Defense (US Army Corps. of Engineers, US Air Force, Navy).
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Leads large, complex, must win multidisciplinary pursuits from capture through to interview.
Leads and contributes to writing of proposal sections (cover letters, executive summaries, past performance sections, management approaches, and resumes/staffing sections).
Participates in Go/No-Go and capture strategies, and drives compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities, providing leadership and direction.
Is a reviewer on color reviews, applying in-depth institutional knowledge.
Supports and analyzes debriefs and gathering of client feedback to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvements.
Oversees proposal and project filing on the Nat Gov secure server and Salesforce.
Knows where to go for all recent submittals and project descriptions for their sector or client.
Is familiar with the top IDIQs and top IDIQ managers and project managers for their client or sector.
Supports communications team to provide content for the website, brochures, and other digital media and thought leadership in collaboration with Client Account Managers (CAMs) or Market Sector Leaders (MSLs).
Serves as marketing lead for a client, in collaboration with CAMs or MSLs.
Develops and implements client marketing strategies and priorities working in collaboration with CAM, BL, Regional and Communication Leaders to align with corporate strategy.
Participates in strategic planning (evaluating marketing intelligence, identifying client concerns and issues, and developing win strategies).
Contributes to leadership and strategic direction for proposals, and reports on pipeline, internal business development strategies, capture planning, proposals, and debriefs related to that client.
Leads special projects involving teams of BL or multiple BLs staff, as directed by BL Marketing Lead.
BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experiencing writing design proposals, in particular winning work for facility design-bid-build and design-build pursuits.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
APMP/SMPS certification is a plus.
Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM’s Federal clients, projects, people, credentials, and competitors.
Evidence of successful leadership of multi-disciplinary or multi-geography Federal proposals valued >$20 million for agencies such as USACE, the US Air Force, Navy.
A thorough understanding of proposal and presentation best practices and tools, including how to convey messages, themes, discriminators, and responses to evaluation criteria clearly.
Demonstrated experience applying industry best practices and procedures to support positioning, client or business development processes.
Strong proposal writing and editing skills; working knowledge of grammar and style. A strong working knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), graphics programs (e.g., InDesign, Adobe Acrobat), word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), spreadsheet management (Excel), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc. An understanding of CRM.
Salesforce experience is a plus.
Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.
Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.
