AECOM is seeking a CAD Specialist / Designer I or II to be based in Glen Rose, TX working as part of a team of Engineers and Designers at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant on modification packages. Typical work will include engineering of revisions to existing plant systems.

CAD Specialist I Level specific responsibilities:

  • Works under direct supervision.

  • Performs standardized or prescribed CADD assignments, involving a sequence of related operations.

  • Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Performs routine applications, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

  • Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.

  • Works under close supervision.

CAD Specialist II Level specific responsibilities:

  • Works under general supervision.

  • Performs both routine and non-routine, drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

  • Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Follows established procedures and requires instructions only on new assignments.

Minimum Requirements

Requirements for CAD Specialist I:

  • BA/BS plus 0 years of relevant experience OR AA/AS plus 2 years of relevant experience OR HS diploma / GED plus 4 years of relevant experience

Requirements for CAD Specialist II:

  • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience OR AA/AS plus 4 years of relevant experience OR HS diploma / GED plus 6 years of relevant experience

Other:

  • Must be able to obtain unescorted access to a Nuclear Power Plant

  • Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience with Microstation is preferred.

  • Commercial nuclear power plant experience is strongly preferred.

  • Plant experience at Comanche Peak is preferred.

  • Multi-discipline experience including mechanical, electrical, and I&C design is preferred.

  • Capability with 2D and/or 3D plant design is strongly preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  • Relocation and per diem support are not available for this position.
