As we move further in to 2022, we continue to grow and to support that growth, we are now recruiting multiple Signalling CREs to support our design on the National Framework Agreements, SRSA S&C Alliance, and Design Services Framework (DSF) as well as other live and future projects. These roles can be based from any of our UK offices although flexibility would be required for travel to AECOM and client offices.
What will you do?
Work as a lead engineer on mid-to large size signalling projects predominantly across GRIP 4-8.
Lead signalling designs integration with installation, test and other design disciplines.
Approve and signs off on work.
Provide technical expertise to support design production.
Present complex technical solutions to clients.
Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participate in development of technical proposals.
Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
You will have experience leading complex signalling design projects, likely already undertaking the role of CRE and supported by in-depth knowledge of signalling design and interlocking principles, signalling construction and installation methods, NR standards, equipment and components. Your hands-on experience will include managing the production, checking and approval of feasibility, outline and/or detailed signalling principles design and calculations. You will have strong knowledge of railway systems and related operating practices, along with their key interactions with other railway assets and ideally familiarity of RRI, E10K, mechanical and/or SSI systems.
A current IRSE Signalling Principles, Verifiy, and/or Engineering Manager licensce.
Membership of the IRSE or other engineering institution
Experience of undertaking the role of CRE
Experience of working on S&C renewals
