Job Description

AECOM are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to work on our joint venture with Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with Morrison Water Services to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme.

The successful candidate will work on a number of wastewater schemes in a design & build working environment, providing technical design expertise to support a multi-disciplinary team including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Geotechnical & Environmental, on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to support all aspects of civil projects from design to implementation, ensuring compliance with Scottish Water \ Water Industry Specifications.

  • Carry out site visits, non-intrusive surveys and inspection assessment.

  • Feasibility assessment of engineering infrastructure.

  • Prepare and check design approach, calculations, drawings and technical reports with due cognisance to SW Specification & Standards and in accordance with CDM Health & Safety procedures.

  • Supervise and mentor less experienced or junior engineers

  • Liaise with construction delivery team & contribute to providing solutions to challenges that arise during the construction process.

  • Liaise with clients to obtain relevant technical consents as part of the engineering process.

  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate identify innovation/best practice for consideration.

  • Comply with CWA Quality Assurance procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering.

  • Experience in full project life cycle.

  • Sound technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications and an understanding of CDM Regulations.

  • Experience of liaison with other disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status (CEng/ IEng), or equivalent relevant experience.
