AECOM Principal Mechanical Engineer in Glasgow, United Kingdom

AECOM is currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be part of the Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) Engineering team in Scotland, based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will responsible for delivering mechanical and public health engineering on stand-alone and multi-disciplinary projects, as well as leading medium scale MEP projects as an internal AECOM MEP project manager. You will also provide mentoring and coaching to members of the team.
Senior technical resource who will serve as technical advisor for team, supporting the mechanical lead for Scotland.
Will support mechanical engineering team lead in delivery of large MEP projects
Will lead the mechanical engineering team in delivery of MEP projects or multi-disciplinary projects, to include undertaking AECOM MEP Scotland project manager role.
Provides specialised technical input to studies and design for their specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Provides guidance and support to other, less experienced, engineers within the team. Developing their technical capabilities and mentoring as appropriate.
Mechanical project engineering experience, within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
Experience of NEC 3 or 4, particularly with respect to Supervisor roles preferable.
Expected to travel between Edinburgh and Glasgow as necessary to fulfil project and team working requirements
Preferably CEng. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mechanical building services design or similar related qualification.
Will have experience in healthcare sector, but also leisure, commercial and higher education and / or defence sectors.
Ideally you will live locally or be willing to relocate .
