AECOM are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to work on our joint venture with Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with Morrison Water Services to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme.
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will provide valuable support to Project Managers through the Design Lead Engineers and the project design and delivery cycle. Candidates welcomed who have experience in civil engineering, Consultancy or Design & Build environment, ideally Wastewater engineering but not essential.
Role responsibilities include timeous delivery, quality, budget, HSE and ensuring compliance with Scottish Water’s established specifications and procedure. Delivering outline and detailed designs of wastewater infrastructure will be a key focus.
The successful candidate would be working on a number of wastewater schemes in a Design & Build working environment, providing technical design support to a multi-disciplinary team including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Geotechnical & Environmental, on a daily basis.
Key Role and Responsibilities
Provide input to all aspects of civil projects from design to implementation, ensuring compliance with Scottish Water\ Water Industry Specifications.
Carry out site visits, non-intrusive surveys and inspection assessment with senior members of staff.
Contribute to feasibility assessment of engineering infrastructure.
Assist in the preparation of design approach, calculations, drawings and technical reports with due cognisance to SW Specification & Standards and in accordance with CDM Health & Safety procedures, to support the Design & Build of wastewater civil infrastructure.
Supervise and mentor less experienced or junior engineers.
Liaise with construction delivery team & contribute to providing solutions to challenges that arise during the construction process.
Client & third party engagement/ liaison to obtain relevant technical consents.
Comply with CWA Quality Assurance procedures.
Engineering degree/HND in Civil Engineering or relevant disciplines.
Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering Status (CEng/IEng), or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience in the full cycle of project design delivery from inception to detailed design.
