AECOM Building and Places business is looking for a Chartered Architect/ Project Running to join the team. This role will see you practicing architecture in a multi-disciplinary environment with the opportunity to work across multiple sectors including education and defence. The role will complement the existing vibrant and growing architectural team. You will have the opportunity to engage with peers in engineering, landscape architecture and planning and build your career through AECOM Connect network.

Although the roles will be based from our Glasgow or Belfast offices the successful candidate should be able to work remotely several days per week and be available to travel to sites around Scotland and the North of England or Ireland.

Your role in the team will be shaped around the existing practice and work streams and you will work alongside the Architecture Practice Lead and Technicians to design and deliver projects internally collaborating with engineers and other consultants. You should be comfortable running multiple jobs simultaneously and interacting with clients, end-users and outside consultants.

We are looking for a motivated candidate with well-developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills who is able to maintain productive working relationships at all levels. The successful candidate will have a passion for what they do and show enthusiasm through their work and will enjoy working in a busy, multi-disciplinary team environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in an Architectural role.

  • A team player - demonstrated skills in working collaboratively in a team environment.

  • A proactive, positive and enthusiastic professional with a drive to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

  • Multi-tasking and a proficiency in time-management on day-to-day tasks is essential.

  • Good technical, graphic, oral and written communication skills.

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment

  • Demonstrated design consulting experience – working experience within a multi-disciplinary design team would be highly advantageous.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit competent (Further Revit training can be provided)

  • Experience in running multiple jobs simultaneously and management of technical staff

  • Experience dealing with multi-stakeholder clients and framework project delivery

  • Experience of working with listed buildings

  • Good working knowledge of building warrant and planning application processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent

  • Other complimentary professional qualifications will be considered
