Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors have become a core issue for real estate investors, and the funds and companies in which they invest. With new risks, opportunities and imperatives arising all the time, real estate organisations need to keep pace with evolving market expectations, both from a competitiveness and fiduciary point of view.

As an ESG Consultant you provide specialized input to help our clients envision, plan, execute and communicate ESG Strategies for their organisations, funds and projects. In doing so, your aim is to drive performance, reduce risk, enhance transparency and propel identity.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Providing support in the delivery of projects for clients with a focus on corporate ESG strategy, governance and reporting, including application of various reporting frameworks.

  • Climate-related disclosure (and related strategy), including the adoption of the TCFD recommendations

  • Materiality assessments, optimization of analyst ratings

  • Development of ESG roadmaps

  • Setting ESG targets

  • Supporting cross service line coordination in the development and implementation of net-zero strategies and attainment of other ESG goals

  • Supporting general Environmental projects, including due diligence, auditing and permitting activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university (i.e., Environmental Sciences, Engineering)

  • 3+ years of experience consulting externally (i.e. client-facing) or internally (i.e., in-house at an organization) on ESG/sustainability strategy, governance, risk management and metrics & targets

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects and client management

  • Strong communication and writing skills in Dutch and English

  • Sound Microsoft Office skills, including Powerpoint, Word and Excel and Outlook.

  • Outstanding critical thinking skills with the ability to solve unstructured problems.

  • Intellectually curious with a strong desire to develop professionally in the ESG/sustainability field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university

  • 10+ years of experience at a sustainability consulting firm, or equivalent

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Environmental compliance and regulation, circular economy, nature-based solution, health & safety, TCFD and/or decarbonization and Net Zero
