Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Water Resources Civil Engineer to be based in Germantown, MD .

This position is expected to begin in Jan 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects.

  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred requirements:

  • GIS experience and demonstrated knowledge of working through a GIS platform

  • Experience or classwork in hydrology and hydraulic modeling using programs such as HEC-RAS and/or HEC-HMS

  • Water resources background.

  • License as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain license within 1 year
