AECOM is seeking talented Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in our ongoing work with the US Department of Homeland Security. The job is to support ongoing research and applied solutions in homeland security covering all facets including critical infrastructure protection, detection and monitoring, border and transportation security, cybersecurity, communications, and resilience.
The position entails providing insight and advice concerning strategic direction and applicability of current, industry standard or innovative solutions based on in-depth understanding of the latest homeland security developments. Responsibilities include providing high level vision to programs, development of program and project objectives of complex efforts. Individuals may also lead in-depth research in support of homeland security initiatives and also need to be able to effectively communicate in writing and orally to both lay and technical audiences.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Has a solid foundation of understanding or analysis of client business practices and goals; develops and formulates solutions to client problems on assigned projects.
Under limited supervision, responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions.
Has broad technical knowledge but possesses an area of specialization or focus.
BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects clients are security sensitive.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an indoor/office environment. Position requires often keyboard/mouse operations; occasionally standing/walking; rarely working with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending/stooping, climbing stairs, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting 50 pounds or less.
Advanced Degree or such equivalent credits/certifications + 10 years of relevant experience or 15 years of relevant experience.
Applicable Certifications; work experience with DHS S&T, other DHS Directorates, and/or other consulting for the federal government.
Strong ServiceNow skills are preferred
