Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Analyst to be based in Washington, DC .

AECOM is a premier consulting firm and a top 10 contractor to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). We provide support to seven different DHS components and directorates, providing the government homeland security expertise for over 30 years. AECOM provides support services in portfolio and program management, engineering, RDT&E, subject matter expertise and develop requirements that are driven by DHS components as well as the needs of State, local, and private sector homeland security stakeholders.

Job Description Summary:

  • Assist program managers in their execution of programs within the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) process encompassing: technology foraging and scouting; research and development; test and evaluation; systems & operational analysis and engineering; operational testing and integration; information management; technology transfer, transition and commercialization; and risk management and mitigation.

  • Will be required to assist with defining requirements; provides input to project scope, schedule and budget based on an understanding of the program lifecycle. Assist in maintaining changes to project baselines; monitors deliverables; assess documents, plans and applications; conducts quality reviews of projects and tasks.

  • Prepares presentations and other materials to support project functions. Leads activities to identify project risks and assist in the development of mitigation plans. Drafts correspondence, reports, white papers, minutes, spreadsheets, communications products, briefs, and other documentation.

  • Maintains and tracks action items and participates in meetings. Will be required to support the development of procurement requests to include having and applying practical knowledge of the acquisition process as outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation in order to formulate various acquisition approaches.

  • Assist in drafting various documents supporting a procurement. Will be relied upon to provided technical and procurement guidance to junior contractor staff on the team.

  • Must be able to coordinate with staff through DHS S&T and DHS components and must be able to quickly understand the organization and effectively interact within the larger DHS organization.

  • This individual must be able to assist Government staff in preparing for, attending, and documenting outcomes/action items from meetings and coordination events.

  • Must be able to assist in calendar management/conflict resolution. Some of the data involved in this position involves images and other data involving illegal activity which can be disturbing to some individuals but the ability to process these data for mission focus is important.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain Top Secret or Secret security clearances.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant or Master’s + 5 years of relevant experience

  • Software skills including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project. Broad understanding of the information technology space and emerging capabilities.

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an on-site indoor/office environment. Position often requires keyboard/mouse operations; occasionally standing/walking; rarely working with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending/stooping, climbing stairs, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting 50 pounds or less.
