AECOM Project Manager I in Germantown, Maryland

Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Approves and signs off on work.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
10-15 years of related experience with geotechnical design and construction
MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited US School or additional relevant work experience equivalent to
Licensed Professional Engineer
Thorough understanding of the concepts of soil mechanics and rock mechanics
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing geotechnical projects greater than $25,000.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams remotely located within AECOM
Ability to travel for 1 to 2 weeks domestically and internationally
Experience and willingness to mentor junior staff
Experience in preparing cost and qualification based proposals for private and government clients
Experience with underground construction, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability
Experience with gINT, Geostudio, Plaxis, Flac or other related design software
Due to the nature of these contracts, must be a US Citizen
PhD in Geotechnical Engineering
Experience with working on international projects at US military installations
Ability to obtain security clearance
Willingness to represent AECOM at professional organizations
Interest in business development
