Position Title Environmental Inspection and Assessment Leader

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Scientist 4, Environmental for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively manages projects from proposal development through completion including tracking and controlling scope, schedule, and budget

  • Supports business development efforts, including the preparation of technical and cost proposals

  • Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to environmental regulatory compliance

  • Leads a project team of scientists, engineers, and subcontractors

  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of technical reports, plans, and permitting documents

  • Interacts with local regulatory agencies and clients

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant environmental discipline

  • 8+ years of environmental consulting/project management experience

  • Strong Technical experience related to Due Diligence, Phase I and II site investigations and environmental compliance

  • Demonstrated task/project management skills

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Extremely proficient in technical writing

  • Highly effective organization and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands, think strategically and successfully lead multiple simultaneous projects

  • Experience with environmental permitting

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification

  • Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, PE, CEP) and/or PMP certification is desirable

  • Working understanding of federal contracting and sub-contracting practices and requirements

  • Experience in the Mid Atlantic region is preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically

  • Qualifies as an ASTM 1527-13 Environmental Professional (preferred, but not required)
