Job Description

AECOM’s People and Culture Team has a fantastic opportunity for a People & Culture Business Partner to join our team. We are looking for someone early in their business partnering career or someone looking to take a step up into this role. This is a part time role (4 days per week) based in our Brisbane office.

You will be joining a team of Business Partners, reporting directly to the People & Culture Lead for the region. You will have opportunities across a range of activities that will include working alongside the leaders of our business, working with the wider People & Culture team and being involved in strategic projects.

Working with a diverse range of client groups you will be responsible for all facets of People and Culture business partnering, including:

  • Employee Relations

  • Performance, Reward & Talent Management

  • Building the people management capabilities of our leaders

  • Facilitating and supporting change management

  • Leading and supporting HR projects

  • Working with managers to improve our employee experience.

About You

You will have knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian Awards and experience handling HR queries on a broad range of issues. You will be confident interpreting People Policies and providing advice to managers. Ideally you would have 3+ years’ experience working in Human Resources in a dynamic environment.


To be successful in this critical role, you will be:

  • An effective communicator, able to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.

  • Proactive and solutions oriented, addressing issues when you see them and using your influencing skills to enact change.

  • Innovative in your solutions and actively up to date with HR best practices.

  • Responsive, with a strong sense of accountability for your remit

  • Commercially minded with a curiosity to learn our business

  • Experienced in using HRIS platforms, Workday would be beneficial, but is not essential.
