Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Electrical Supervising Discipline Engineer III or Electrical Supervising Discipline Engineer IV

to be based in our Fort Mill, South Carolina location.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

  • Will lead a group of engineers and designers preparing and executing modification packages for operating Commercial Nuclear plants.

  • Will be Supervising Electrical Engineer leading a group of engineers and designers preparing and executing Engineering Change Packages for operating commercial nuclear plants.

  • Responsibilities include preparation of proposals, budgets, schedules; and monitoring performance of the electrical group.

Minimum Requirements

Electrical Supervising Discipline Engineer III

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • 6 years of professional experience

  • Must have an active PE License in the state of NC & SC or possess a PE license in another state but be able to obtain licenses in NC, SC, TX, MI within 6 months of employment

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of commercial nuclear power plant engineering experience

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing Engineering Change (EC) packages for commercial nuclear power plants. Must be fully versed in preparing all aspects of the EC packages including: preparation of task problem and solution statements; preparation of design inputs, evaluation of the change against the plant design inputs; determining and assessing applicable Operating Experience; identification of affected documents & drawings; preparation of installation package including installation requirements, parts list, & test requirements; preparation of risk assessment for the EC; has performed 50.59 evaluations or screens;

  • Must be able to perform electrical auxiliary system calculations/analyses and be familiar with using such software tools as ETAP,SKM Powertools or PSS/E

  • Must have led a team/group of 3-5 engineers

  • Must be able to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant

  • Very familiar with the preparation and execution of project scope documents for the electrical discipline

  • Has a solid understanding and can lead all aspects of estimating for a discipline

  • Leads the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget

  • Fully understands the project change control process, can train others, and identify potential changes

  • Responsible for performance management and mentoring

  • Is fully versed in updating and maintaining project schedules and resource tools

Electrical Supervising Discipline Engineer IV

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of commercial nuclear power plant engineering experience

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing Engineering Change (EC) packages for commercial nuclear power plants. Must be fully versed in preparing all aspects of the EC packages including: preparation of task problem and solution statements; preparation of design inputs, evaluation of the change against the plant design inputs; determining and assessing applicable Operating Experience; identification of affected documents & drawings; preparation of installation package including installation requirements, parts list, & test requirements; preparation of risk assessment for the EC; has performed 50.59 evaluations or screens;

Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • M.S.in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems focus
