Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Site Recruiter to be based in our client site in Fort McMurray. This is Temporary position, on a rotational shift of 4 days working onsite and 3 days off, Monday-Thursday to support CNRL Albian Spring 2020 Turnaround season. This is a site based role, 10.5 hours/day.

This position will be reporting to the Recruitment Lead in Calgary. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for attracting quality talent with an ability to deliver results. In addition he/she must have a high attention to detail, be very organized and have strong communication skills. This role heavily relies on working with a variety of software applications so good working knowledge of software and computers would be required.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall recruitment process from screening candidates, and preparing offer letters for successful candidates. Assist in the transfers of internal staff as necessary.

  • Responsible to identify and implement recruitment strategies to effectively source and recruit specific skill sets with external agencies such as industry associations, post-secondary institutions, and immigrant service organizations.

  • Liaise with Project Team members to ensure mobilization of crew (or crew transfers) is handled seamlessly.

  • Manage/coordinate with Project Team on site resource plan.

  • Participate in the implementation of new and existing recruitment initiatives such as road shows, career fairs, targeted advertising, print material, utilization of agencies and search firms, etc. to maximize the pool of potential candidates.

  • Maintain and update the applicant database.

  • Coach and advise the supervisors/managers on labour standards pertinent to staffing practices within Alberta.

  • Report on recruitment activities, and prepare & review manpower requirements with each client group.

  • Working in collaboration with the leads to ensure that recruitment initiatives and processes are developed, implemented, communicated and delivered in support of the approved Infrastructure staffing plans.

  • Participate in the assessment of the needs of the business from an organizational effectiveness perspective in support of recruitment initiatives.

  • Ensure the necessary tools and information packages are obtained and developed for new projects.

  • Ensure all internal process and procedures are adhered to when recruiting employees.

  • Understand hiring manager's needs and build internal relationships. Site visits as required.

  • Build strong relationships with the project Human Resources teams and hiring managers to ensure process and procedures are being followed.

  • Communicate and train other functional groups within the division to the Recruitment Policies and Procedures.

  • Provide constant updates and reporting on recruitment strategies and plans to the Recruitment Lead/Manager to ensure alignment with the manpower forecasts.

  • Educate both the hiring manager and external candidates in company’s hiring process.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Degree and minimum 4 years of related experience OR Diploma/Certificate and minimum 2 years of related experience is required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong written and verbal communication with a positive, client/candidate-focused customer service attitude.

  • Must have strong negotiation, analytical skills, and the ability to make cold calls.

  • Strong attention to detail, team player, work well with others and organization skills.

  • Ability to change recruitment direction and priorities, based on ever changing critical needs.

  • Owning the Detailed Force Report (DFR), changing positions/start dates based on direction from site operations.

  • Able to work in fast paced work environment.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Construction safety ticket (CSTS 09 or 2020).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education within Human Resources or Business related fields preferred

  • CHRP or RPR preferred.

  • Experience recruiting TRADE/CRAFT roles.

  • High volume recruiting experience is an asset.

  • Expert Computer Skills: IBM Kenexa BrassRing Applicant Tracking System or prior experience with an applicant tracking system is an asset.

  • Advanced Excel skills is preferred.

  • Understanding of Apprenticeship and Industrial Training system in Alberta is an asset.
