AECOM Safety Watch in Fort McMurray, Alberta
AECOM is hiring Safety Watch Labourers to join our CNRL Albian project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary position, supporting the Spring 2022 Turnaround on either a 24/4 or 6/1 rotation.
This position provides a knowledgeable aspect of the company's equipment, technology and procedures that will enable them to proactively manage the hazards that they face in the workplace.
May include the following responsibilities:
Execute assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Ask required questions and take the required direction ensure that work is accomplished safely.
Understand and follow company’s safety management system and core values.
Maintain all company tools and equipment to the required standards.
Drive safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times.
Participate fully in such things as job observations, near miss and HID reporting, site inspections, weekly and monthly safety meetings, and tailgate meetings
Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
Ensure that all training is kept current.
Understand and utilize the right and responsibility to stop unsafe work.
Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
Provide customer focused services in all activities.
Fulfill all commitments made to others.
Foster a cooperative and positive work atmosphere.
Be aware of and work towards personal progression and growth opportunities.
Training and mentoring new employees.
This is a fly-in/fly-out position and as such will be subject to the Government of Canada’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements:

Must be Fully Vaccinated (2 shots + 14 days) – Proof of vaccination and a rapid test done within 72 hours of travel (if you have been off CNRL site for more than 30 days)
Starting December 21st, CNRL has mandated that anyone accessing a CNRL facility must be fully vaccinated. Those who are not fully vaccinated will not be given access to site.

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection - OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified
Confined Space -OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified
Mx4 training (will be provided at site)
Valid class 5 licence
