Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking a Material Technician Journeyman to join our SUNCOR Firebag project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a Full-Time position on a 7/7 shift rotation unless otherwise specified.

Approximate duration: Permanent/Full-Time
Location: 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Travel: Charter flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton , and bus from Fort McMurray
Accommodation: Camp accommodation will be provided to all workers
Overtime Eligibility: All craft will be eligible for overtime
CLAC Union agreement in place; with competitive rates
Material Technicianwill be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Warehouse work and material handling experience would be expected in this role.
Loading, unloading, inspecting, identifying,and distributing materials and equipment.
Wearing and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Maintain all company tools and equipment to the required standards.
Operating power pallet jacks or form trucks in and outside of the warehouse.
Cleaning and preparation of construction components (Modules, Process equipment etc.), if and when required.
Cleaning of company vehicles and/or equipment, if and when required.
Execute assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Ask required questions and take the required direction to endure safety that work is accomplished safely.
Understand and follow AECOM’s safety management system and core values.
Foster a cooperative and positive work atmosphere.

In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Material Technician Journeyman Certification that meets AIT requirement (Apprenticeship and Industry Training) or proof of hours (Over 6000 hours) upon request
Minimum 3 years of materials tech/warehouse tech or related experience is required.
Strong material technician/parts person experience is required (i.e. instrumentation and components, piping, fittings and electrical)
Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse/inventory management system (e.g. SAP)
Previous warehouse / material handling experience is required
Experience in the industrial warehousing industry, including Shipping, Receiving, and Working the issuing counter.
Previous maintenance services (i.e. routine maintenance, turnaround, shutdown, outage) experience is required
Physical strength and stamina

Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) and/or BSO (Basic Safety Orientation) Certification

Forklift Training and Certification
Able to operate Forklift equipment and have experience in operating an order picker forklifts, if and when required
Must have experience in counter balance, rough terrain forklifts of various sizes and types
Must have experience in operating a standard picking forklift
Must have experience working at heights and have fall arrest training.
A valid Class 1 or Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
Other safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required, as per the project team
Experience in working at the Suncor operations sites is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of SAP (Suncor's warehouse/inventory management system) is preferred.
